Opened, clicked, bounced emails... What do our tracking stats mean?

This article explains all you need to know about the number of opens, clicks, bounces, responses and unsubscribes to assess your campaign performance. Read this article to understand what each metric means.

All statuses in the Merge status column

After you send your mail merge, you can instantly see how the status of each recipient changes in the Merge status column.

The table below includes a full list of the statuses you can see in the Merge status column of your mail merge spreadsheet.

EMAIL_SENTThe email was sent.
EMAIL_OPENEDThe email was opened by the recipient.
EMAIL_CLICKEDThe recipient clicked a link in the email.
RESPONDEDThe recipient responded to the email.
BOUNCEDThe email was not delivered.
UNSUBSCRIBEDThe recipient unsubscribed from future mail merges.

At a glance, you can quickly review the stats and metrics of your email campaign in the Tracking Report.

Clickable metrics from the tracking report

Click each metric from the tracking report, and YAMM automatically filters the corresponding rows.

You can see at a glance who opened your emails, clicked etc. and can better redefine your target if, for example, you want to send a follow-up mail merge.

To remove the filters, click Remove filter at the bottom of the tracking sidebar.

Besides, if you hover over or click on a cell under the Merge status column, you'll find a little note which indicates when the action happened.

See the history of your campaign

At the bottom of the tracking report, you can access your previous mail merges, and you'll also find a direct link to the documentation to get more information about the tracker.

If you click Previous mail merges, you are redirected to your dashboard in the YAMM web app, which provides all the stats from your previous mail merges. You can then check all your mail merge statuses.
